Seminar on Pakistan Meteorological and Earthquake Forecast, Mitigation and Relief was Successfully Completed

 The seminar on Pakistan Meteorological and Earthquake Forecast, Mitigation and Relief was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, hosted by the WMO RTC in Nanjing. It lasted for a period of 21 days. The closing ceremony was held in the NUIST on the afternoon of Nov. 6th . Vice President of the NUIST, Niu Shengjie attended the ceremony and delivered the speech. Vice Director of Economic and Trade Office of Jiangsu Province Commercial Department Zhao Yuhong, Deputy Director of the WMO RTC Lei Zhaochong and the participants from Pakistan participated in the Ceremony. Executive Deputy Director of WMO RTC Wang Suchun presided over the Ceremony.
 
Vice President Niu Shengjie expressed congratulations on the successful completion of this seminar, and appreciated on the strongly support of  Ministry of Commerce and all the participants’ cooperation during the training course. He hopes that they still have chances to come to our university to study and exchange information. Vice Director Zhao Yuhong delivered the speech on behalf of Jiangsu Province Commercial Department. She hopes that the participants will extend and expand the effect of training of the foreign aid, and promote cooperation and communication in the field of meteorology, earthquake forecast, mitigation and relief. She also wishes the good memories will be kept forever, friendship and cooperation will be continued.
 
Deputy Director in Pakistan Meteorological Department, Mr. NAJEEB AHMED AMIR, made a statement on behalf of Pakistan participants. He said: "The training course deepened my impression to China. It is good to study and shared information in the meteorology, earthquake information fields.  The participants were interested in  Chinese culture Course taught by Professor Wang Suchun, and learned a lot. We were moved by Chinese people's attitude. They are all polite and warm- hearted.” The officer of Pakistan Meteorological Department Ms. AMBREEN SOBIA said that during the training they had learned a great number of practical and important knowledge. When visiting Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, they are impressed by the advanced meteorological instruments and  efficiency of staff.

All participants were grateful to this training that was organized by the Ministry of Commerce and WMO RTC Nanjing. To express their appreciation, the participants representative put on the Pakistan traditional hats and scarlves to the leaders who were present at the Closing Ceremony.

 Twenty Participants who are meteorologists, seismologists and officials from Hydropower Development in Pakistan, Atomic Energy Commission, Pakistan Meteorological Department, Islamabad Cabinet Departments and universities took part in this seminar. This seminar is the 28th bilateral seminar that held by the WMO Nanjing RTC.
