The Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Training Course on Radar Meteorology for Developing Countries was Held in NUIST

On the morning of May 12th, the opening ceremony of the 2015 Training Course on Radar Meteorology for Developing Countries, which was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and undertook by WMO RTC Nanjing, was held in our university. Vice chancellor of NUIST, Li Gang, attended the ceremony and gave a welcome speech. Deputy Director of Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province Zhao Yuhong , Deputy Director of WMO RTC Nanjing Lei Zhaochong and the participants attended the ceremony. Executive Deputy Director of WMO RTC Nanjing, Wang Suchun presided over the opening ceremony.

Vice chancellor of NUIST, Li Gang, gave a warm welcome to the participants and introduced the history and subject of NUIST briefly. He said, the meteorological experts can enhance understanding of weather system and improve the accuracy of weather forecast, especially calamitous weather forecast by analyzing the data of radar. It can also apply to the hydrological and flood warning and the ground validation which is estimated by satellite in climatic study. Therefore, this training course puts emphasis on both the weather radar theory and practical application. 
 
Deputy Director, Zhao Yuhong on behalf of Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province gave a warm welcome to the participants. She said, Chinese government provides various assistance to other developing countries and hopes that the participants have a better understanding of China through the training course so that promotes China’s economic and trade relations with other countries.
Mr. MAHMOUD EMADELDIN SAYED who comes from Egypt gave a speech on the ceremony. He is grated to WMO RTC Nanjing greatly for providing the opportunity to exchange experience and get the new knowledge and skills. He, on behalf of all the participants expressed gratitude to CMA, NUIST, WMO RTC Nanjing and Chinese Embassy in their countries.
 
This training course is the 85th international training course which held by WMO RTC Nanjing. There are 26 participants from 13 developing countries attending the training course and it will complete on June 8th. During the training period, the participants will also have study tour to the Radar station of our university and Xuzhou Meteorological Bureau.
