Seminar on Management for Meteorological Officials from Asia-Pacific Countries Was Held in NUIST

On the morning of June 12th, opening ceremony of Seminar on Management for Meteorological Officials from Asia-Pacific Countries was held in NUIST. Li Gang, Vice chancellor of NUIST, attended the ceremony and delivered the speech. Wang Suchun, Executive Deputy Director of WMO Regional Training Centre Nanjing presided over the opening ceremony, Lei Zhaochong, Deputy Director of WMO Regional Training Centre Nanjing and participants from Thailand, Mongolia, Samoa, Venezuela, Laos, Sri Lanka, Pakistan attended the opening ceremony. The training course sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, undertook by WMO Regional Training Center Nanjing.

Li Gang, Vice chancellor of NUIST, gave a warm welcome to the participants. He introduced the internationalization of the University and the development of WMO Regional Training Center Nanjing. By June 2015, the Center has trained more than 2500 meteorological and hydrological officials for 145 countries and regions. He noted that management is an art, and hope the training can improve the participants to be more efficient and more competitive in management.
 
 On behalf of the participants,  Ms. Tin Mar HTAY from Burma said in her speech that she is grateful for Ministry of Commerce of P.R.China and the Regional Training Center Nanjing. The training course provides platform for officials and meteorologists from so many countries for the exchange of knowledge. They greatly thanks for a variety of assistance provided by the Chinese government for the Asia Pacific countries, especially in the area of the meteorological training assistance.
 
This period of training will last for three weeks. The participants will also go to Anhui Meteorological Bureau for study tour. This is the Eighty-Eighth international training course held by WMO Regional Training Centre Nanjing.
