WMO Senior Officer Mr.Toya Visited the Centre 


  At noon on September 17, Vice President Jiang jianqing met and dined with Doctor Toya, Director of Regional Office for Asia & Pacific,at Nanqi Hotel. Professor. Jiang expressed hospitality to the WMO senior officer and wishes for continuing support the work of WMO, especially in the area of the WMO regional training center to make more contributions to WMO education and training plan. Dr. Toya gave a high evaluation on the University and the Centre for the accomplishments in recent years.
      Mr. Wang caifang, Deputy Director of the centre, gave a brief introduction of the Centre and conducted deep discussion on the cooperation of the training courses in the future. Dr. Toya expressed that WMO will support the “International training course on Weather and Climate South-South Cooperation” hold by theCentre in November.
      Dr. toya held a seminar with the traineess of international training courses on numerical weather prediction, and they had exchanges about the common concerned topic, and took group pictures.
      Dr. Toya, accompanied by Mr. Wang caifangvisited University’s History Museum, Meteorological Observatory, libraries and Atmospheric Observation Base and Agricultural Meteorological Experiment Station with great interest. The Centre provides high quality learning environment and emphasize on students’ practice, which was also appreciated by Dr. Toya.
