under 45 years old
Healthy, provide health certificates or health examination results issued by local public hospitals. Persons having infectious diseases, severe high blood pressure, cardio-cerebral vascular diseases, diabetes, mental diseases, and those who are physically severely disabled or pregnant, are not allowed to come to China for the training.
English listening, speaking, reading and writing ability
No relatives or friends accompanied.

About the Organizer
Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology(WMO Regional Training Centre (RTC) Nanjing) has held 84 international and 28 bilateral training courses from 1990 to 2014. About 2405 meteorologists and hydrologists from 144 countries (regions) have been trained, many of them become the backbone of the scientific and technological continents in their respective National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), including a number of leaders of the NMHSs. In 2010, WMO issued a special certificate of achievement, which indicated that WMO RTC Nanjing made an important contribution of the People’s Republic of China to sustainable development and the achievement of the UN Millennium Development Goals.
UNESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee appointed Training Centre as a training centre of the Committee in February 2012.
Training Course Content
The training course lectures cover various radar meteorology topics, including a brief introduction to China and Chinese culture, introduction of radar meteorology, weather radar working principle, hydrometeor scattering and weather radar equation, attenuation, refraction and relevant issues, radar reflectivity factors analysis, radial velocity, spectrum width and interpretation, quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE), wind retrieval, radar data application in severe weather nowcast, dual-polarization weather radar and relevant products and the application, radar data quality control, storm case analysis and etc.. Meteorological practice and study tours are also included.
